Kurt Henry:

What is most notable about “Ace guitarist, Kurt Henry” (Woodstock Times) is how his music has changed over the years. His roots are folk, beginning at the Village Gaslight in the 60s; they steered him toward country rock in the 70s, and then to progressive rock (for lack of a better term) today. Many of his songs now have a bluesy, jazzy, latin edge, as can be heard on Heart, Mind & All, his latest CD, to be available for the first time at this fair!

Jim Barbaro:

At nine years old Jim traveled to Verona, Ontario to perform his first original song, “My Little Dreamgirl” for his Aunt Pauline. Mumble-mumble decades later he is still the singer of romantic songs. And although you can easily infer that the hard truth about relationships has left a distinctive imprint (“My Old Stand-by”), there is still a dreamy quality in this athletic voice doting elastically over the jazzy, funky-chunky chords of his classical guitar. The experiential weight of love’s contradictions is powered  through the tunnel of the four-minute song by the force of the stalwart bass provided by the low strings of that same guitar.

Myles Mancuso:

Affectionately dubbed “Mojo” Myles by local newspapers, he has performed with a number of well-known names in the industry. Myles has appeared on local TV and radio and he’s performed on some of the best stages in NYC (The Cutting Room, BB Kings, Terra Blues, NY Comedy Club, Iridium Jazz Club). At twelve years old, he has received accolades from the likes of Les Paul who was reminded of himself at an early age. Myles leads a band of adult professionals.

Jen Clapp:

Jen is a fine songwriter and a singer with a sweet zephyr-like voice who recently made news opening for Dar Williams. Her generosity of spirit comes through in her own mission statement: “Writing songs has become, for me, a way of making sense out of what I see and feel. I often have strong reactions to things in the world but can’t always figure out why. Songwriting helps me to do that. I hope that it might be helpful to others, too, and that my music may add something meaningful...”

Machan:

Her mom sang in a post WWII jazz club in Yokohama, and Machan’s exquisite voice has been heard on recordings from Sting, Pink Floyd, Government Mule, George Benson, Pat Benatar, and the list goes on. Influenced by all the above and especially by the jazz scene, Machan’s songwriting is also influenced by James Taylor and Joni Mitchell.

Barbara Dempsey and Company:

The region’s finest R&B interpretive band is led by one of the region’s most powerful and dynamic singers. The band plays familiar songs with great guitar and sax solos, all underscored by legendary stand-up bassist DeWitt Nelson.
